At the 27th of November it happend, my wife suddenly felt something was different and suddenly I knew, nothing would be the same as before.

We prepared months for that moment. We read informed us in all possible ways, we read books, informed us in the internet and took part in classes about how to start a family. We prepared her room and filled it with child pictures and cloths. We made the furniture child safe so that it would not fall down if she starts climbing.

It all started like every evening, me and my beautiful pregnant wife watched an episode of Good Doctor and we decided to slowly go to bed. But someone decided to change our plans. From one moment to another I felt completly under prepared it started in the night around 23:00 p.m., because sleeping is anyway completly overrated.

Even tough I will not go into to much detail about the next 21 hours and I had a lot of time waiting outside of the hospital because of mad COVID I had the chance to think about what I want to do in the future. And this blog is a result of it.

I am in Germany and we talk here a lot about gender equality and also to involve man perents more into the family, but I see in the real world that man as a main parent are still getting shouted week or not suited for the task. And even if I see families that are usually modern and you would expect that the old gender roles and family models would not apply to them but somehow, they did.

I want to be different, and please do not call me things like Superdad or Best dad in the world that is absolutly wrong. The idea should be to show my vision how every dad should be and how we also learn it from the Media. This will not be a perfect guide on how to make everything right, because everyone has a different parenting style and ideas but it should give you a hint how I do it and I would like to create a platform to share ideas on how to improve parenting for dads and support our family as good as possible.

I hope that explains a bit my motivation and if you like that feel free to join me on that adventure. I will try to write every now and then an article about the different topics I see and where I think I was able to contribute best as a father.
